The Presence is a multimedia artwork exploring the sense of fear and self-isolation brought upon by one’s perception of inner and outer “self” both alone and in context to others. In a gallery setting, the audience is subjected to the levitating figure while a video feed is broadcast on the television installed on the room’s opposite end. The effect on the viewer then is an intimate drawing of connections between themselves, the figure, and the knowledge and subtext of what it means to be watched or perceived.

The artwork was created during Price’s Studio Practice during his Summer term at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.
